Vibe 1 is expanding and we are looking for the next breed of presenters & volunteers.

We cannot tell you too much at the moment but we have some big plans over the next 12 months - and you could be a part of it!

We boast an experienced team of ex-commercial & BBC radio presenters who assist us in delivering professional standards both on air and off air.

EXPERIENCED RADIO PRESENTERS - Voluntary (Unpaid).
We take great pride in how we do things at Vibe 1. We aspire to achieve professional standards in our presentation style.

There are opportunities within our presenting team for a number of vacancies. 

Who are we looking for?
Presenters that possess some experience of working within the radio industry, whether that's in a commercial, BBC and community radio capacity. A minimum of 6 months previous experience is required for this role.

Role Requirements:

• Commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week (remote is available).
• Ensure that the content you are delivering is within our key commitments.
• An understanding of the Ofcom broadcast guidelines.

TRAINEE RADIO PRESENTERS - Voluntary (Unpaid)

We are looking for the next generation of radio presenters.
This is an opportunity to learn the art of radio presentation and perfect your style.

This position is a brilliant confidence builder and will also enhance your CV and learn about our key commitments and the Ofcom broadcast guidelines.

Role Requirements:

• Commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week.
• Attend training sessions with our operational play out systems.
• Must be over 18 years of age.

This position is great for college and university students looking for some experience of working in radio.

Please note: We have a minimum of 6 months training prior to being offered any airtime on Vibe 1. This is to allow you the opportunity to understand the requirements of how we operate, our key commitments and the Ofcom broadcast guidelines.

TRAINEE BROADCAST JOURNALISTS - Voluntary (Unpaid)

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to help craft our local news service across our daytime programming.

Local news is a vital part of our remit and as we look to develop our service in the coming months, we are looking for trainee broadcast journalists for Vibe 1's on air programming through the week (Monday - Friday).

Role Requirements: 

• Commit to a minimum of 12 hours per month.
• Real-time experience of preparing and delivering local news bulletins on Vibe 1's flagship daytime programmes.
• Be able to work under pressure with deadlines.
• Responsible for researching, writing and editing website copy.
• Comfortable with interviewing newsmakers including local politicians, councillors etc.
• Create news-worthy content for social media.
• An understanding of legal definitions and the Ofcom broadcast code.

This position is the perfect fit for students that are currently studying broadcast journalism. It's a brilliant platform to gain real-time experience and further develop skills.

TECHNOLOGY AND IT SUPPORT - Voluntary (Unpaid)

It can be quite the challenge getting a radio station on air - and staying on air! 

As we have just moved into new state-of-the-art facilities at the Beaconside Business Village, we are now looking for further technology and IT support to help us continue our expansion.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to 'muck in' and provide a range of support with our services.

Role Requirements:

• Managing support operations to ensure efficient and effective resolution of technical issues.
• Developing and implementing support processes.

This is a rewarding position working alongside a small team.

SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING - Voluntary*

Vibe 1 is looking for someone to help develop our digital platforms, including Meta, Instagram, TikTok and X.

Do you have a passion for social media content? Then, you could be someone that we are looking for to join our team and work closely with our on air staff and events crew.

Role Requirements:

• Responsible for developing and executing social media strategies to enhance brand awareness and drive traffic across our platforms.
• Develop engaging content, including text posts, images, videos, and interactive content tailored to each platform.
• Stay updated on social media trends, tools and best practices to enhance content strategy and performance.
• Work with our programming team to execute integrated brand content and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

This is a position that would suit someone who has experience of developing brand enhancement. The ideal candidate has the opportunity to put their own stamp on Vibe 1's social media branding - and would suit someone that is currently at university or college.
