Thousands of children and young people across Staffordshire can now book their place for free festive fun and exciting activities this winter, thanks to the county council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
Running from Monday 22 December 2025 to Friday 2 January 2026, the HAF programme is funded by the Department for Education and supports children aged 5–16 who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals.
Each eligible child can book up to four fully funded sessions this winter. Many clubs also offer paid places, ensuring no child misses out.
From sports and creative clubs to arts, drama, STEM and robotics, the programme offers a vibrant mix of activities designed to inspire, engage and support children during the school holidays. Where possible, every session also includes a nutritious hot meal.
With over 45 clubs delivering more than nine thousand places, children will be spoilt for choice. Activities will take place at schools, community centres and leisure venues across Staffordshire.
Nick Lakin, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:
“We’re pleased to kick off another season of unforgettable experiences for children and young people across Staffordshire.
“Our upcoming winter HAF programme will be packed with exciting opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and enjoy their holiday to the fullest.
“Whether your child wants to dive into a new hobby, make new friends, or simply have a great time, our activities offer something special for everyone this festive season.”
