Stafford Rangers Football Club have announced the death of former player Roger Jones.
Jones made 300 appearances for the Boro scoring 105 goals - helping the club reach some notable achievements during the 1970's.
He was a member of the side that reached the 4th Round of the FA Cup in the 1974/75 season and the FA Trophy Final in both 1976 and 1979. Although Rangers were beaten 3-2 by Scarborough in the dramatic final of 76, it was Jones who got both of the Stafford goals in front of the thousands who had made the trip to Wembley.
Following his retirement from football, Roger became a frequent visitor at Marston Road with good friends Stuart Chapman and Ben Seddon.
The Boro faithful have been paying their respects to the club legend.
