Families are being invited to enjoy the great outdoors this Halloween, with spooky trails and craft sessions taking place across Staffordshire’s country parks.
From Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November, visitors can follow hauntingly fun Halloween trails at Cannock Chase and Chasewater Country Park.
Dare to enter the woods of Cannock Chase in search of hidden pumpkins using only the clues available to you... if you’re brave enough. Over at Chasewater, join Redfawn the Deer Wizard on a magical adventure to track down his friends in time for the big Monster Mash Party.
Trail sheets cost £3 and include a prize on completion. They can be purchased from the Cannock Chase Visitor Centre at Marquis Drive or the Chasewater Innovation Centre. Both trails are wheelchair-friendly, and fancy dress is fangtastically encouraged.
As an extra treat, Staffordshire County Council – in partnership with the Friends of Chasewater - is hosting a Wild Wednesday Halloween Crafts session at the Innovation Centre on Wednesday 29 October, from 2pm to 3.30pm. Children can get creative with nature-themed crafts and no booking is required.

Hayley Coles, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said:
“Our countryside staff have worked really hard to put together these fun Halloween activities, and they’re a great way for children to enjoy the fresh air and explore our beautiful country parks this half term.
“While you’re out enjoying the trails, please help us look after these special places by taking only photos and leaving only footsteps. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone this October half term.”
