It is a breach of the Public Space protection Order (PSPO) which can result in a £100 fine should officers witness this.
The Police say they appreciate it is the school summer holiday's, but ask parents to ensure their children are aware of the PSPO, as it will be parents who will be issued with a fixed penalty notice to pay on the child's behalf.
They say they cannot stress enough the importance of adhering to the PSPO ruling. It is there for everyone's safety.
