Carriageway to remain shut for repair work

The closure is expected to affect commuters coming from Stone into Stafford.

The A34 Southbound will remain closed for over a week due to a burst water main, Severn Trent Water have announced.

The closure will affect commuters heading towards the Redhill roundabout at the junction with the A513 Beaconside. The diversions in place will take traffic via Great Bridgeford along the A5013 into Eccleshall, along the A519 to the A51 and then the A51 back to the A34.

This latest motoring misery is also compounded by the recent news of 13 weeks of roadworks along the A513 at Marston Gate, Beaconside.

Severn Trent will be working on a fix whilst also repairing the carriageway. They say it is likely to be closed until the 9th February.
