Residents urged to check Christmas bin collection changes

Residents in Stafford Borough are being reminded to check when their recycling and waste will be collected over the Christmas period.

There will be revised collection dates for green, blue and brown bins, and blue bag, in the borough from Saturday 20 December 2025 until Saturday 3 January 2026.

The borough council is encouraging people to check the rescheduled dates on their collection day calendars or at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/about-my-area Bins should be out by 7am on the revised collection days.

Homes across the borough currently recycle around 45 percent of all the waste collected from the doorsteps. Tips for recycling over the festive period - such as places to compost Christmas Trees - can be found from www.staffordbc.gov.uk/christmas-recycling-and-waste-arrangements-2025-2026

The cost for having your brown bin garden waste collected is £43.50 for 2026 and to continue using the service go to www.staffordbc.gov.uk/brownbin or contact the council at 01785 619402.
