Local chef, Thomas Hine, is running from John O Groats to Lands End in aid of charity
Stafford Chef, Thomas Hine, has taken on the challenge of running from John O Groats to Lands End whilst raising money for a charity close to home. 
Thomas is raising money for Brainwave - the charity that specialize in helping children with disabilities through therapy programmes and was inspired to take on the epic journey by his 3 year old nephew, Jasper, who was born with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. 
Thomas trained between 15 and 20 hours a week with back to back long runs, including 8 to 10 hours of long runs on a Sunday.
His journey began last week - and he's already 9 days in and averaging around 40 miles per day. It's expected he'll be making his way through Staffordshire by the end of the week having reached south of the Scottish border and heading towards Kendal in the Lake District on Monday.
Thomas said:
'Jasper is my driving force - and just seeing him and the way he has navigated his way through life gives me so much joy and motivation.'
He continued:
'It's not about what you have but about what you do with what you have.'
